وقال أحدهم في وصف مغامرة تقوم بها دجاجة
A man said to his pipe after feending it when it was lost
قال رجل مخاطباً غليونه بعد أن وجده وكان ضائعاً
The pipe replied
فرد الغليون
Another said, mocking people who married their daughters to old men
وقال آخر يهجو قوماً زوّجوا ابنتهم من شايب
A poet reviled a people who did not honor him
وهجا شاعر قوماً لم يكرموه
And in the satire of anoher msier
وفي هجاء بخيل آخر
And in the satire of misers as well
وفي هجاء البخلاء أيضاً
