Her cousin decided to kidnap her on her wedding night. He gathered the men and said to them, “Coffee of war,” an expression meaning that the coffee would be passed around to those who drank it—whoever drank it participated in the war, and whoever did not drink it was exempt. His brother was sitting there, and the waiter offered it to the first man, who refused, as did the second and third. His brother then said
وقرر ابن عمها أن يخطفها ليلة زفافها، وجمع الرجال وقال لهم "قهوة حرب" وهذا تعبير معناه أن القهوة ستدور على الشاربين، فمن يشرب سيشارك في الحرب ومن لا يشرب فهو مستكف، وكان أخوه جالساً، ومدّ الساقي على الأول فرفض وكذلك الثاني والثالث فقال أخوه

Someone described his wife, who had been married to two men before him
قال احدهم يصف زوجته التي تزوجت باثنين قبله
One of them circumcised his four sons and celebrated with a rooster, so the poet said sarcastically
أحدهم قام بختان أولاده الأربعة وأولم بديكٍ فقط فقال الشاعر ساخراً
And a poet mocking his wife said
وقال شاعر يهجو زوجته
A pot whose wife left him said
وقال شاعر هجرته زوجته
Among the things said about women
ومما قيل في النساء
And another one said wishing for a wife
وقال آخر يتمنى زوجة
